Renovation of the New York Roosevelt Island cable car to resume operation after 9 months

　　罗斯福岛空中缆车是一条横跨纽约市东河、连接曼哈顿岛和罗斯福岛的缆车系统，于1976年正式启用，1989年开通两地地铁线路前曾是连接罗斯福岛和曼哈顿中城的唯一公共交通运输工具。虽然地铁客流量渐渐超过缆车，但至今每天仍有5000多名乘客依赖缆车出行。

　　此次翻修项目耗资2500万美元。翻修后的缆车系统稳定性更高，速度更快，车程从5分钟缩短至约3分钟，同时更换了更大车窗以便乘客欣赏景观。新缆车系统装有4个巨大发电机，以防出现电力故障，保障缆车顺利运营。

　　新缆车系统的预期寿命为30年，届时需要更换一些部件。
